Restaurant Owners

Do you need help getting employees? Is basic training a challenge in a busy kitchen? Have you experienced high turnover in the first few days of on-boarding? We are here to help!

We find qualified people to fill those vacant positions -
and keep them filled!

Setting you up for success.

Prep Cook Bootcamp provides four days of hands-on training to people looking to start working in a restaurant. We teach our students the basics and give them practical experience, so they show up in your kitchen with a head start. This is how we increase retention levels, and streamline the on-boarding process for restaurant owners and managers.

Our students

Working with local agencies, we select candidates who have the aptitude and drive to succeed in the hospitality industry.

Employers hiring candidates through the WorkSource and Next Success program may be eligible for an On the Job Training (OJT) wage reimbursement program of up to 50% of wages for the first 160 hours of employment. More information about OJT can be obtained through WorkSource.

Our training

Participants in the course will learn basic kitchen competencies. We train knife skills, dish machine operation, basic cooking principles and food safety. By the end of the training, all participants have a Food Handlers’ Card and many will be ServeSafe-certified and eligible for Person In Charge certification and a 5 year food handlers card.

Students receive a basic overview of human resources including review of I-9 and W2 forms, highlighting essential soft skills, and a basic review of employment law including sexual harassment and workplace conduct.
